Good to Know

• Unlimited checkouts.
• No holds or fines.
• Back issues are available.
• Digital copies are released simultaneously with print editions.
• Some titles have a limited number of checkouts, if the limit has been reached try again later.

Getting Started

To get started, you will need to have the following:

• Your Library Card number and PIN.

You can read magazines using a browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari or by downloading the app.  If you want to read the magazines offline, you will need to download the app.

Download the App

Flipster is available for Apple iOS 10.0 and later or Android 5.0 or higher.

After downloading the app, you need to find your library by either allowing the app to use your location or searching for the library by name, postal code, city or province.  Tap the Log In button for your library.

Enter your Library Card number and PIN to log in.

After logging in, you are taken to the Explore screen of the Flipster app, which shows the titles we have available for you.  You can search for magazines or browse the whole collection.  Once you find a title you wish to look at, tap Download and the title will appear under My Shelf.

Some titles expire and will need to be deleted from your device. These titles display an expired icon when they are no longer available.  Select weekly titles may expire in 2 days while select monthly titles may expire in 7 days.  You can always download the title again.

Using a Computer

On your computer or mobile device, you will need to use a browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari to click or tap on the Flipster Start Now link from LPL's website.  If accessing it from outside the library, you will be asked for your Library Card number and PIN.  Next, search or browse for the magazine you wish to read.  The magazine will open in your browser.  

Please note that when using a browser, your history of items borrowed will not be kept.

Use the menu at the right to flip pages, print sections, find the table of contents, back issues and more.  You can also search within an issue using the search box that appears on the right.

Back issues appear after you click on a current title.
