Sherwood Renovation Project

We’re writing Sherwood Branch Library’s next chapter!

We’re excited to announce that we’re making much-needed upgrades to Sherwood Branch Library! Stay up to date on information about this project including available services.

Construction on Sherwood Branch Library started at the end of January 2025 and is expected to take 6-8 months to complete. We hope to be open in late summer or early Fall, 2025.

We have now entered the final phase of the project which means that Pop Up Library service is no longer available as we work to finish the renovation. Please return items to any other Library location and place holds for pick up at another location until the branch re-opens. We can't wait to see you soon in your revitalized Sherwood Branch Library!

Pop-Up Library Now Closed

Renovated Branch To Re-Open Late Summer or Early Fall !

Sherwood’s Pop Up Library closed on July 10 and we have moved into the final phase of the branch renovation.

This means that we're getting close to re-opening and it also means that for this final phase, you will not be able to borrow, pick up holds or return items at this location.

No services will be available at Sherwood during this final phase as we work to re-open a revitalized branch you're going to love.

    During this closure:

    • Place items on hold for pick up at another Library location, such as Cherryhill.
    • Return items to any other Library location. Return chute not available until Sherwood re-opens.

Our staff will be happy to help you adjust your holds to another Library location during this closure. Please call us at 519-661-4600 or email info@lpl.ca.

    About Sherwood Library

Sherwood Branch Library, London Public Library’s 13th Branch Library, opened in the Sherwood Forest Mall in May, 1985.  Sherwood serves a population of approximately 36,390 in London’s North West (Ward 7), a large area with diverse communities.  In 2023, there were more than 140,000 visits to Sherwood, with more than 164,000 items borrowed.  With many schools located within walking distance, Sherwood is a community hub for children, families and youth, who often visit the Library on a daily basis.  Popular programs at Sherwood Branch include afterschool clubs and the Library Settlement Partnership program in partnership with the Northwest London Resource Centre, along with many programs for seniors, young families and youth. The renovation of Sherwood Branch Library will help these programs grow and thrive and will create a destination that the North West community will feel proud of and that will strengthen a sense of community belonging.
