Opening Ceremony: Connection to Land and Spirituality
In a gratitude Ceremony, Tracey Whiteye will share the significance of Anishinabe and Lenni-Lenape Indigenous cultures, including their worldviews, values, stories, songs, and dances, and how these elements contribute to the preservation of cultural identity. This encompasses language, cultural practices, and our spiritual connections to the land, water, air, and fire. These aspects play a vital role in fostering a sense of identity and a sense of belonging, and knowing that we are all precious gifts of Creation.
