Good to Know
- You have 12 tickets each month (instead of 4 play credits) and the tickets reset on the first of each month.
- The number of tickets you need for each film is shown next to the play button.
- Most films will be available for 72 hours (3 days) while longer series can be checked out for 7 - 21 days; this information is listed beside the number of tickets needed to borrow a video.
- Kanopy Kids collection allows for unlimited viewing for all children’s movies and television series without using any of your tickets.
- Available as an app and through your Smart TV.
Getting Started
To get started, you will need to have the following:
- Your Library Card number and PIN
- Create a Kanopy account using your email address and a password.
When you go to Kanopy for the first time, it will ask if you have a Public Library Card. Search for London Public Library, and Select This Library. You will need to add your Library Card number and PIN. Kanopy will then ask you to create an account with your name, email and a password. You will use the email address and password to login going forward.
You can view Kanopy films on your computer or download the app to your mobile device or Smart TV
Download the App or Watch on your Smart TV
Kanopy is available for iOS 9.0 and later, Android 4.3 or higher.
Download the app and create an account by entering your email address and password. You will then need to verify your email address by going to your email account and clicking on the link they provide. This will then redirect you to the app where you can enter your Library Card number and PIN.
You can then search, browse or select a film from the curated collections.
If you have a Smart TV, you can use Kanopy as an app, or by connecting your computer to your television via HDMI.
Using a Computer
If you’ve already created an account, Log In using the email and password you provided. You can then search, browse or select a film from the curated collections to watch.
Your tickets display on the top right corner of the screen.
If you click on Kanopy Kids, you will only see movies, films and television series for children. You will need to Exit Kanopy Kids to return to the main screen.
