Getting Started
To get started, you will need to have the following:
- Your Library Card number and PIN.
- Option to create an account with your email and a password to store search preferences, search history, lists for books you wish to read and search alerts
Using Novelist
Once you have logged on, you can use the basic search to find your favourite author, title, genre or you can try to describe a book. There is an advanced search feature which you can use to broaden your search or narrow it by date, audience, author’s information, format and more.
There are recommended reading lists along the left hand side which provide easy access to lists for different genres. You can also toggle to use the nonfiction tab to see books in different subject areas.
From the top menu, under Quick Links, Novelist provides resources to help you start a book club, decide what your club should read next or to jump start the discussion for your latest book choice.
