Join LPL and Starling Centre at Central Library for the launch of the expanded Glass Room exhibition, and keynote talk, “AI Won’t Fix Our Social Problems: Deconstructing Risk in Predictive Risk Models” with Shion Guha.
Shion Guha is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto, cross-appointed to the Department of Computer Science, and directs the Human-Centred Data Science Lab. Guha has partnered with Canadian municipal, provincial, and federal bodies on AI initiatives and provided expert input into U.S. state agencies and civil society organizations. He holds an MS from the Indian Statistical Institute and a PhD from Cornell University.
Welcoming remarks and keynote will begin at 6PM, followed by a Q&A.
