Shawn Durant is a Haudenosaunee artist/musician based in London, Ontario. He has been performing, writing and recording music for over a decade. Shawn fronts the rock band S.D. Henhawke, plays guitar in the band Status/Non-Status and performs as a duo alongside his brother Derek Durant, a musician and audio engineer also hailing from so-called London Ontario.
Derek specializes in sound improvisations, experimentation and immersion. He’s fascinated with exploring sound and how it relates with our identity, memory and culture. He’s performed consistently for the past 10 years, all across Canada and international shows. He’s involved with local acts such as SD Henhawke, Sub Drop, Status/Non-status and Ombiigizi.
Performing alongside each other, pairing acoustic guitar and vocals with atmospheric synth and keyboard, together they create a folky, dream-pop sound with lyrics that reminisce on the connection to nature, life’s joys and collective struggles.
