Online English Learning Tools

Learn Canadian English from over 140 different home languages using Pronunciator. Pronunciator offers personalized language learning and is free with your valid London Public Library card.

Test Preparation Guides

Find and borrow test preparation guides for TOEFL, TOIEC, IELTS and more.  Simply search the Library’s catalogue for the name of the test you’re preparing for. 

 

You can get immediate access to TOEFL and TOEIC practise guides online with your Library card through Learning Express.

English To Go Bags

Find new and popular books on English language learning in our English To Go bags. English To Go is available in four reading levels: Level 1 (Beginner), Level 2 (Intermediate), Level 3 (Advanced), and Academic (for those preparing for an academic environment). Each bag has 5 – 7 items.

One-on-One English Conversation Program

This program matches learners wishing to improve their English verbal skills with volunteers. The matched pairs meet remotely once a week for conversation. Participants must be 18 years of age with sufficient English skills to participate in a conversation. Suggested minimum CLB level 4.

 

NOTE: The Application Process is Now Closed and will Reopen in August/September 2023.

 

  • Each session lasts for eight months from October to June.
  • Once you are matched you will be contacted by someone from the English Conversation Program with more information.
  • The program is offered in-person and remotely (by telephone, or video call).
